Christian is the founder of Grove Partners. He is an investor and an owner/operator of multiple businesses.

Originally from University Place, Washington, Christian was a Washington State state champion and first-team all-state water polo player. He began his investing career in 2014 with a small investment fund focused in Mozambique that imploded when the Mozambican economy collapsed due to the Tuna Bond scandal.

​

In 2021, Christian joined an early-stage software private equity fund and built the acquisitions engine that led to three acquisitions in the first year. He transitioned to an operating role at one of the portfolio companies taking it to Rule of 50, doubling both the bottom line and ARR growth.

Christian is married to Katie Bateman and together they have four kids. He's passionate about his family and you can follow the Bateman family exploits on their YouTube channel.
